Service

Do not paint affected panel for this condition!

This condition may be temporary, and even in more permanent cases, this condition can be repaired. The severity of this condition will determine the course of action. Treat minor conditions as follows:

1. Hold heat gun approximately 3 in. away from affected paint surfaces and apply heat using slow oscillating motions until discoloration is gone.

2. If discoloration remains, wipe the heated area with Isopropyl alcohol and repeat procedure to increase surface drying.

If this is not successful and buffing is required, follow these guidelines:

1. Ensure that the affected surface is completely clean, dry, and free of all dust and moisture.

2. Each buffing process will be done with a variable speed buffer set to 1,400 rpm. Using a double-sided 3M(TM) Superbuff III Wool Pad attached to a 3M(TM) Superbuff Adapter, apply 3M(TM) Perfect-It 3000(TM) Rubbing Compound to the stained area. Buff the area just enough to clear the stain.

3. Using a gray foam waffle pad attached to a 3M(TM) Perfect-It(TM) Backup Pad, apply 3M(TM) Perfect-It 3000(TM) Swirl Mark Remover to remove the compound swirls.

4. Using a blue foam waffle pad attached to a 3M(TM) Perfect-It(TM) Backup Pad, finish the area with 3M(TM) Perfect-It 3000(TM) Ultrafina SE(TM).

5. Buff entire panel for proper blending. Remove any remaining haze or residue with a detailing cloth. Apply wax to repaired panel as necessary.
