Multifunction Steering Wheel Buttons

Removing

- In vehicles with Telematics, activate Telephone/Telematics Control Module (J526). Refer to => [ Telematics Service Mode, Activating/Deactivating ] Component Tests and General Diagnostics service mode.

- Disconnect battery ground wire.

- Follow safety precautions for airbag systems. Service Precautions

- Remove driver's airbag.

- Disconnect harness connector - 1 - at button - 2 -.





- Slide button - 2 - out of steering wheel in direction of arrow.

- Turn button around.

- Disconnect harness connector - 2 - to Tiptronic switch from multifunction button - 1 - and remove button.





Installing

- Install in reverse order.

Removal and installation of left multifunction button is identical.

Tiptronic Switch

Removing

- In vehicles with Telematics, activate Telephone/Telematics Control Module (J526). Refer to => [ Telematics Service Mode, Activating/Deactivating ] Component Tests and General Diagnostics service mode.

- Disconnect battery ground wire.

- Follow safety precautions for airbag systems. Service Precautions

- Remove driver's airbag.

- Disconnect trim ring from steering wheel.

- Slide multifunction button - 2 - out of steering wheel in direction of arrow.





- Turn button around.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - on the multifunction button - 1 -.





- Remove the bolts - arrow - (3 Nm) and the Tiptronic switch to the rear.





Installing

- Install in reverse order.

Removal and installation of the left switch is identical.
