Torque Converter Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Extractor lever (VW 681)

• Thrust piece (T10137)

Procedure

- Remove the transmission. Refer to: => [ Transmission, 2.0L TFSI ] Transmission, 2.0L TFSI, => [ Transmission, 3.2L FSI ] , => [ Transmission, 4.2L MPI ] Transmission, 4.2L MPI.

- Attach transmission to assembly stand. Refer to => [ Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand ] Transmission, Securing to Assembly Stand.

- Carefully remove the torque converter.

- Remove torque converter shaft seal with Extractor Lever (VW 681).





- Apply ATF to circumference and sealing lips of oil seal.

• Installation position: The open side of the sealing ring faces the transmission.

- Using Thrust Piece (T10137), drive in torque converter shaft seal as far as thrust piece stop.
