Oil pan, removing and installing - 09L, 6 Speed AWD A/T
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Drip tray V.A.G 1306
^ Safety goggles
Removing
Note:
^ General repair instructions.
^ Read the rules for cleanliness when working on the automatic transmission.
- Place drip tray V.A.G 1306 under transmission.
CAUTION!
Wear safety goggles.
- Remove ATF drain plug - 1 -.
- Drain ATF.
Note:
^ Observe relevant disposal regulations.
^ The engine must not be started and vehicle must not be towed without ATF in transmission.
- Loosen 23 bolts on oil pan in diagonal sequence and remove oil pan.
Installing
Installation is performed in reverse sequence. Note the following:

^ Replace seals and gaskets.
^ The drain plug with seal must be replaced.
- Clean all magnets in recesses on oil pan. Make sure that magnets make full contact with oil pan.
- Clean sealing surface thoroughly; remaining material from the previous gasket must be removed completely.
- Tighten oil pan bolts in several stages and in diagonal sequence.
- Tighten new drain plug - 1 -.
- Fill with ATF Go To Draining ATF or filling after repairs Draining ATF or Filling After Repairs.
