ATF Cooling Lines and ATF Cooler, Cleaning
ATF cooling lines and ATF cooler, cleaning - 09L, 6 Speed AWD A/T
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Compressed air gun (commercially available)
^ Hose, approx. 18 mm dia.
^ Drip tray
Note:
^ Always clean ATF cooling lines and ATF cooler before installing a replacement transmission.
^ Read the rules for cleanliness when working on the automatic transmission.
^ Thoroughly clean all joints and surrounding areas before disassembling.
Procedure
- Place drip tray underneath.
- Remove bolt - 2 -.
- Connect a hose approx. 18 mm dia. to ATF line - A - and secure with a hose clamp.
- Place other end of hose in drip tray.
CAUTION!
Wear safety goggles.
- Blow through ATF line - B - using a compressed air line (max. 10 bar).
- Change hose from ATF line - A - over to ATF line - B - and repeat sequence.
- Press ATF cooling lines onto transmission or cooler by hand until they engage, then tighten.
- Check ATF level.
