Selector Lever Cable (From VIN 8E_6A156500), Adjusting



Selector lever cable (from VIN 8E_6A156500), adjusting - 01J, Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





^ Socket and key T40031





- Remove cover for shift mechanism.
- Place selector lever in position "D".





- Loosen rear clamping screw on selector lever cable through hole in shift mechanism approx. one turn using socket and key T40031.

Note:
^ Loosen clamping screw only approx. 1 turn. Do not remove.
^ Clamping screw is only accessible in selector lever position "D".
^ Selector lever must remain in position "D" while clamping screw is loose.

- Carefully move selector lever lightly toward front and rear without shifting into another selector lever position, this releases the tension on selector lever cable.
- Check exact position of selector lever in position "D" by pushing selector lever lightly towards drivers seat - arrow A -.

Note:
^ Do not touch selector lever during the adjustment.

- Without touching selector lever, tighten clamping screw in this position using socket and key T40031.
- Install cover for shift mechanism.
- Check shift mechanism.





Note:
^ Using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 A, the position of Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch F125 can be compared to position on selector lever via On Board Diagnostic (OBD), 02 - Transmission electronics, 08 - Read measured value block, display group 2 in display field - 1 -.

If shift mechanism does not function properly after adjusting selector lever cable:

- Bring selector lever cable into basic setting.
