Selector Shaft Oil Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Tube (VW 418 A)

Work Procedure

• Transmission removed.

- Remove bolt - B - completely and remove the lever for the selector shaft - A - upward.





- Carefully pry out the sealing ring for the selector shaft lying underneath using a screwdriver.

• Sealing surface and selector shaft must not be damaged.

- Coat outer circumference of new sealing ring with Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).

- Slide on new sealing ring over selector shaft and press in.

- Drive on sealing ring until seated using tube ( VW 418 A).

- Connect the lever for the selector shaft - A - to the selector shaft and tighten bolt - B -.
