- Remove A/C unit, refer to => [ A/C Unit ] A/C Unit.
- Remove the A/C system wiring harness from the air guide channel, refer to => [ A/C unit Electrical Components ].
- Remove the bracket and the cover for the coolant pipes to the heat exchanger for the heater and remove the heat exchanger with the coolant pipes, refer to => [ A/C Unit Heating Elements and Air Ducts ]
- Remove the bracket for the refrigerant lines and disconnect the air guide channel from the air distributor housing, refer to => [ A/C Unit ]
- Dismantle the A/C unit and remove the evaporator from the bottom air guide channel.
• Before inserting evaporator, check condensation water drain, clean if necessary.
• Place seal - A - on evaporator - B -.
• When inserting evaporator - B - in air guide - C -, make sure that seal - A - is not displaced. Moisten seal - A - with a suitable lubricant (e.g. soap suds).
• After assembly of air guide - C - with the air distributor housing, check for proper seating of seal - A - on the opening for the two refrigerant lines.
• The removed evaporator contains refrigerant oil which must be restored to the refrigerant circuit.
• Check the type of seal at the connections and the refrigerant lines. These must be designed for the same type of seal. Refer to => [ Refrigerant Line to Component Connections ] Refrigerant Circuit, Servicing
