Brake caliper, servicing

Rear wheel brake with automatic adjustment

Note:
^ Only install complete repair kit
^ After replacing brake pads, depress brake pedal firmly several times with vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.
^ To extract brake fluid from the brake fluid reservoir, use a bleeder bottle that only comes into contact with brake fluid. Brake fluid is poisonous and must never be extracted by mouth using a hose!
^ Brake testing can be done on all commercially-available brake test stands, as long as the drive speed of both test stand drive rollers is not more than 5.5 km/h.





1 - Hex socket head screw with damper, self-locking, 35 Nm

Note:
^ Do not loosen screw with damper when changing brake pads!
^ always replace
^ When loosening and tightening counter hold on guide pin

2 - Hex socket head screw, self-locking, 35 Nm

^ Always replace
^ When loosening and tightening counter hold on guide pin

3 - Brake caliper housing

^ Unclip parking brake cable from caliper.
^ Fold upward to replace brake pads.
^ Hose must be installed free of twists
^ Do not disconnect brake hose when changing brake pads
^ Brake caliper, servicing

4 - Brake pads

^ Always replace both sides
^ Do not disconnect brake hose when changing brake pads
^ To change brake pads, only remove lower brake caliper bolt, item 2, and fold caliper up.
^ Checking brake pad thickness: 803

5 - Brake pad retaining spring

^ Always replace when changing pads

6 - Wheel bolts

^ Mount wheels.

7 - Torx bolt

^ Torque specification 5 Nm

8 - Brake disc

^ Always replace both sides
^ Remove brake caliper prior to removing
^ Coat contact surfaces between brake disc and wheel hub with Polycarbamide grease G 052 142 A2.
^ Ensure sufficient wear limit

9 - Hex socket heat screw, 75 Nm

^ M10�60
^ Always replace

10 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective cap

^ Supplied as replacement part assembled with sufficient grease on guide pins
^ If protective caps or guide pins are damaged use repair kit. Use supplied grease packet to lubricate guide pins.

11 - Banjo bolt, 45 Nm

12 - Brake line with banjo fitting

^ Hose must be installed free of twists
^ To replace brake pads, unfasten from brake carrier
^ Do not disconnect brake hose when changing brake pads
^ Brake caliper, servicing
