Brake calipers, servicing
Note:
^ When carrying out repairs install all parts supplied in repair kit.
^ Apply thin coat of lithium grease G 052 150 A2 to brake cylinder, piston and seal.
1 - Self-locking bolt, 35 Nm
^ Always replace
^ Counter hold on guide pin when loosening and tightening
2 - Brake caliper housing with lever for parking brake cable
^ Replace brake caliper housing if there is a leak at the lever for parking brake cable
^ After repairing, pre-bleed brake caliper housing
3 - Bleeder valve
4 - Dust cap
^ Install onto bleeder valve
5 - Sealing ring
6 - Piston with automatic adjustment
7 - Guide pin
^ Lubricate before installing protective cap
8 - Protective seal
^ Removing and installing
^ Push outer sealing lip onto piston
9 - Protective cap
^ Insert onto brake carrier and guide pin
10 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective cap
^ Replacement carriers are supplied assembled and with sufficient grease on guide pins
^ If protective caps or guide pins are damaged, replace using repair kit. Use grease packet supplied to lubricate guide pins.
