Removing

Mark the brake pads when removing them if they are to be reused. Reinstall in their original position to prevent uneven braking.

- Remove the wheels and tires.

- On vehicles equipped with a brake pad wear indicator, disconnect the electrical connector - 1 -.

- Lift the locating lug slightly on the lower part of connector - 2 - and turn 90 degrees.

- Pull the connector lower part out of the bracket.

- Raise the vehicle.

- Remove the securing bolts from the brake caliper housing, while counter holding the guide pins.

- Press the piston back into the caliper housing.

Press the piston back into the cylinder with piston resetting tool (T10145), before inserting new brake pads. - Install the brake pads.

- Swing the brake caliper housing down and tighten the bolts to 30 Nm.

The repair kit includes four self locking bolts which must be installed.

After replacing the brake pads, depress the brake pedal firmly several times with the vehicle stationary so that the brake pads are properly seated in their normal operating position.

- Install the wheels and tires. Refer to => Steering and Suspension Steering and Suspension

- Check the brake fluid level and top off if necessary.
