Motor For Backrest Inclination Adjustment, Assembly Overview
1 - Lumbar support adjustment motors (2x)
2 - Seat height adjustment motor
3 - Seat inclination adjustment motor
4 - Forward and backward seat adjustment motor
5 - Backrest adjustment motor
Removing
- Remove seat.
- Attach fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 to engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.
- Attach front seat to fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.
- Remove side trim, outboard side.
- Remove side trim, inboard side.
- Remove backrest cover panel.
1 - Backrest frame
NOTE: The illustration shows a front passenger seat backrest.
- Remove bolt from backrest adjustment motor
- Using a screwdriver, pry off the spring washer - 5 - on the side of the backrest inclination adjustment motor (illustration detail - B - ).
- Using a hammer and punch knock shaft - 4 - through the side of the backrest frame.
- Pull shaft - 4 - out of backrest frame - 1 - until backrest inclination adjustment motor can be removed.
Installing
- When installing new motor, prepare backrest accordingly
- Adapt the splines of the new backrest inclination adjustment motor
- Push shaft - 4 - through backrest inclination adjustment motor and through backrest frame - 1 -.
- Place seat on its side.
- Position a block of wood - 2 - under shaft - 4 - on the opposite side of the backrest inclination adjustment motor (illustration detail - A - ).
- Using an 11 mm socket, knock spring washer - 5 - onto shaft - 4 - (illustration detail - C - ).
- Tighten the bolt on the backrest adjustment motor and connect the connector.
- For memory seat: After installing the seat, perform basic setting of backrest and seat.

Releasing fastening for backrest inclination adjustment motor
- Disconnect connector - 5 -.
- Pull cover - 3 - and anti-squeak pad - 2 - to one side.
- Remove bolt - 4 -.
Preparing backrest inclination adjustment motor
- Using a screwdriver, turn asymmetric section of teeth - 1 - to align with shaft in backrest frame.
Preparing backrest for new motor
- Use pliers to break off bracket - 2 -.
- Secure new motor - 1 - with new bracket - 3 -, using rivets at holes - 4 -.
