Removing and Installing







1 - Shift mechanism cover
- For automatic transmission
- Version I: Removing and Installing
- Version II: Removing and Installing

2 - Shift mechanism cover
- For manual transmission
- Removing and Installing

3 - Selector lever boot
- Connected firmly with securing frame - 5 -.

4 - Shift knob
5 - Securing frame

Removing
- Unclip securing frame - 5 -.
- Undo securing clip - 6 -.
- Remove selector lever boot with shift knob and securing frame.

Installing
- Place shift knob - 4 - on selector lever.
- Firmly press shift knob - 4 - down.
- Close the clamp - 6 - with Hose Clamp Pliers V.A.G 1275.
- Clip securing frame - 5 - into shift mechanism cover.

6 - Clamp
- Replace after each disassembly







Cover with selector lever boot, Removing and Installing
- Open ashtray in center console.
- Remove cover - 1 - with selector lever boot - 2 - upward.
- Installation is reverse of removal.







Version I: Selector lever cover, Removing and Installing
- Open ashtray in center console.
- Remove selector lever cover upward - arrows -.

Installation is reverse of removal.







Version II: Selector lever boot and cover, Removing and Installing
- Unclip selector lever boot - 1 - on both sides and remove upward - arrows -.







- Grasp through opening and remove cover - 1 - upward - arrows -.
- Disconnect electrical connector.

Installation is reverse of removal.
