Right Flange Shaft
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Used Oil Collecting and Extracting Device (V.A.G 1782)
Removing
• Rules for cleanliness when working on transmission => [ Clean Working Conditions ].
• General repair notes => [ Repair Information ].
- Remove right front wheel.
- Remove noise insulation - 1.
• Depending on the version, different noise insulation may be installed.
- Disconnect electrical harness connector - 1 - at Oil Level Thermal Sensor (G266).
- Unclip bracket - 2 - for electrical wiring to Oil Level Thermal Sensor (G266) at the subframe.
- Remove heat shield for right drive axle - arrows -.
- Remove right drive axle from transmission flange.
- Place old oil collecting and extracting device ( V.A.G 1782) beneath transmission.
- Remove bolt for right flange shaft, by installing two bolts into the flange and counter-holding the flange shaft with a pry bar.
- Remove flange shaft with spring, thrust washer and tapered ring.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
Torque specifications: => [ Seals and Flange Shafts ]
- Press in flange shaft against the spring force and secure it with a new bolt.
- Install right drive axle.
