Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

^ Torque Wrench V.A.G 1331
^ Torque Wrench V.A.G 1332

Removing

- Remove lower noise insulation.
- Remove bracket for exhaust system from subframe.





- Remove bolts -arrows- from heat shield.
- Remove heat shield from subframe.





- Remove pendulum support from transmission, remove bolts -14- to do so.
- Now remove bolts for:

^ Steering gear -3 and 6-.
^ Stabilizer bar -11 and 16-.
^ Subframe -4, 5, 12 and 15-.

- Remove subframe.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, with special attention to the following:

Subframe, Stabilizer Bar, Transverse Link and Bracket, Tightening Specifications

Wheel Bearing Housing and Wheel Bearing Unit, Tightening Specifications

- Install and tighten noise insulation.
