1 Clip

2 Headliner

• Removal:

- Remove right and left sun visors. Refer to => [ Sun Visor ] Sun Visor.

- Unclip cover caps - 6 -.

- Disengage expanding clips lying beneath.

- Remove sun visor center holder - 5 -.

- Remove upper left and right A-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Upper A-Pillar Trim ] Trim.

- Remove roof end strip. Refer to => [ Roof Panel Trim, Removing and Installing ] Trim, Avant.

- Remove D-pillar trim on left and right. Refer to => [ D-Pillar Trim, Removing and Installing ] Trim, Avant.

- Remove trim above rear door. Refer to => [ Trim above Rear Door, Removing and Installing ] Trim, Avant.

- Remove left and right lighting for make-up mirror.

- Remove front interior reading light.

- Disconnect electrical connector on sunroof motor.

- If installed, remove front bolt - 4 - on headliner.

- Unclip the cover on the interior rearview mirror boot and disconnect the electrical connector to the mirror => [ Disconnect Electrical Connectors ].

- Fold rear seat backrest forward.

- Fold driver's and passenger's seat backrests back.

- Unclip headliner around sunroof cut-out (16 spring clips).

A second technician is needed to support the headliner.

- Carefully lower roof liner at front.

- Loosen rear clip - 1 - on headliner.

- Carefully lower roof liner at rear.

- If necessary, disconnect wiring harness from A-pillar.

- Disconnect wiring harness from headliner.

- Remove headliner through rear lid.

• Installing:

• When installing a new headliner, clip frame for sunroof - 3 - to headliner.

- Carefully slide headliner in through rear lid.

- Attach wiring harness at headliner.

• Follow sequence when installing because otherwise the roof trim can no longer be centered.

- Clip in rear headliner at clip - 1 -.

- If installed, tighten bolt - 4 - to sunroof.

- Clip in visor center bracket.

Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

Disconnect Electrical Connectors





- Unclip trim on mirror boot and disconnect electrical harness connector - arrow -.
