CD Changer R41, Removing and Installing



CD Changer R41 , Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Radio removal tool T10057
- Turn off all electrical components.
- Remove ignition key.

Removing
- Open glove box.







- Insert two clips on Radio Release Tool T10057 in release slits on CD Changer R41 until they engage. Points on grip eyes face outward.
- Pull CD Changer R41 out of mounting frame.
- Release connectors on CD Changer R41 and remove.
- Remove Radio Release Tool T10057 by pushing locking tabs on CD Changer R41 to do so.

Installing
- Connect harness connector.
- Slide CD Changer R41 into mounting frame until it engages.
- Check wiring connection to Radio R (not radio generation II+) .

Wiring connection to Radio R / CD Changer R41 (through KW 44/06), checking
- Switch radio R off.
"Chorus"
- Press CC/CD button on radio R and at the same time, switch radio R on.
"Concert"
- Press CC button on radio R and at the same time, switch radio R on.
"Symphony"
- Press station button 4 on radio R and simultaneously switch radio R on and hold down switch-on button.

All

NOTE: Data wire from radio R to CD changer R41 is not checked.

Wire connection OK

Indication on radio display:
- "CDC CONNECTED"

Wire connection not OK

Indication on radio display:
- "NO CDC"
- Check electrical connector at radio R .
- Repeat wiring check and if not OK, check wire connector according to wiring diagram.
