Input Shaft Bearing, Transmission Cover, Bearing Housing and Selector Shaft Assembly Overview

Transmission disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Transmission ] Transmission.





1 Torx bolt, 35 Nm

• Quantity: 3

• Apply locking fluid (AMV 185 101 A1) when installing.

2 Guide sleeve

• With seal.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission ] Transmission.

3 O-ring

• Always replace.

4 Dished spring

• Smaller diameter (convex side) faces guide sleeve => [ (Item 2) Guide sleeve ].

5 Circlip

• Note thickness.

• Redetermining thickness, refer to => [ Determining thickness for circlip
in front of the input shaft ball bearing ] Adjustments.

6 Ball bearing

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission ] Transmission.

7 Circlip

• Note thickness.

• Redetermining thickness, refer to => [ Determining thickness for circlip
behind input shaft ball bearing ] Adjustments.

8 Locking bolt, 45 Nm

• Quantity: 2

• Apply locking fluid (AMV 185 101 A1 ) when installing.

9 Dowel sleeve

• Quantity: 2

• Insert in transmission housing.

• Remove and install with drift (3121).

10 Selector shaft with selector cylinder

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission ] Transmission.

11 O-ring

• For selector shaft cover.

• Always replace.

• Lubricate with gear oil.

12 Cover for selector shaft

• With back up lamp switch (F4).

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission ] Transmission.

13 Bolt, 24 Nm

• Quantity: 3

• Apply locking fluid (AMV 185 101 A1 ) when installing.

14 Back up lamp switch (F4), 20 Nm

15 Pin

• For selector shaft stop.

• Insert in transmission housing.

• Installation position: groove on threaded pin points toward selector shaft cover.

16 Dowel sleeve

• Quantity: 2

• Insert in bearing housing.

• Remove and install with drift (3121).

17 Transmission cover

• Disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Transmission Cover ] Transmission Cover.

• If only the transmission cover is removed from the manual transmission, the bearing housing => [ (Item 19) Bearing housing ] must be removed as well so that new sealant can be applied between transmission housing and bearing housing.

18 Bolt, 35 Nm + an additional 90° 1/4 turn

• Quantity: 12

19 Bearing housing

• 3rd to 6th gear assembly overview, refer to => [ 3rd to 6th Gear Assembly Overview ] 3rd to 6th Gear Assembly Overview.

• Input shaft, output shaft with selector gear for 1st and 2nd gear, reverse gear wheel and reverse selector gear assembly overview, refer to => [ Input and Output Shafts, Reverse Gear Wheel and Selector Gear Assembly Overview ] Input and Output Shafts, Reverse Gear Wheel and Selector Gear Assembly Overview.

• Disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Bearing Housing ] Bearing Housing.

20 Transmission housing

• With differential and flange shafts.

• Removing and installing differential, refer to => [ Differential ] Differential.

• Disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Transmission Housing ] Transmission Housing.

21 Oil drain plug, 45 Nm

22 Oil filler plug, 45 Nm
