Right Flange Shaft, Removing and Installing
Right flange shaft, removing and installing - 01J, Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Oil receptacle
Removing
^ Transmission installed.
- Remove right front wheel.
- On vehicles equipped with auxiliary heater, remove bolts -arrows- for exhaust pipe of auxiliary/additional heater to noise insulation.
- Remove bolts or quick-release screws - 1 to 3 - and remove noise insulation at front and rear.
- Where installed, remove bolt -1- for noise insulation cover over right drive axle.
- Disengage hook -2- and remove noise insulation cover.
- Remove heat shield for right drive axle.
- Remove right drive axle.
- Remove mounting bracket for flange shaft -arrows-.
- Place an oil receptacle underneath transmission.
- Pull out right flange shaft together with mounting bracket.
Installing
- Clean flange shaft.
- A damaged sealing ring must be replaced.
- Replace O-ring -arrow A- in mounting bracket for flange shaft.
- Slide spring -C- with cap outward into hole on end of flange shaft -arrow-.
- Insert flange shaft -B- into transmission housing.
Note:
^ While sliding in the flange shaft, make sure that spring -C- remains in the flange shaft and does not fall into transmission.
- Tightly bolt mounting bracket for flange shaft -arrows-.
- Install right drive axle.
- Check gear oil level in front final drive.
