Models

Electrical failures or component malfunctions with circuitry containing a 15 or 20 ampere fuse

Condition

Various electrical failures or malfunctions of components with circuitry containing a 15 or 20 ampere fuse (not mini-fuse).

The failure can be sporadic, and an open circuit can only be detected by pressing on the plug contacts of the fuse while checking continuity within the fuse.

Technical Background





Hairline crack (connection of the fuse wire to the plug contact - see Figure 1) within the plastic housing of the fuse.

Production Solution

The batch of faulty fuses has been identified and removed from production.

Service

Replace fuse.
