Rear Three-Point Seat Belt With Belt Tensioner, Checking Belt Fastening Detection






Seat Belts, Inspecting

CAUTION!
After every accident the seat belt system must be inspected systematically! If damage is determined when inspecting the check points, customer must be informed regarding necessity of changing belts.

Check points:

Belt Webbing, Checking

Retractor, Checking Locking Function

Belt Latch, Inspecting Visually

Belt Latch, Checking Function

Belt Guide Rings and Locking Tongue, Checking

Securing Components and Anchorage Points, Checking

If customer refuses to have a damaged seat belt replaced, appropriate note should be made.

Rear Three-Point Seat Belt with Belt Tensioner, Checking Belt Fastening Detection

- Switch on ignition.

- Connect the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 A) or Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5052) and select "15 - Airbag".

- Read out display group 004 measured value block.

The belt is completely extended, display on Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 A): - no -.





The locking tongue is engaged in safety belt latch and belt has been pulled out to dimension -L-, display on Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 A): - yes -.

- Pull safety belt out completely up to stop. While pulling the belt, the display on the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 A) must remain on - yes -.

- Unroll belt to dimension -L- without releasing the locking tongue. The display on the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 A) must remain on - yes -.

- Release locking tongue and slowly roll belt webbing up, the display must change from - yes - to - no - at a remaining length of 100 mm at the latest.

The belt is completely extended, display on Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051 A): - no -.

Dimension -L- is 300 mm in for left and right seatbelts.
