Over-center spring, removing and installing, 02M/02Y, 5 & 6 Speed M/T, AWD

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





^ Spring retainer 3317

Removing
- Remove driver side storage compartment.





- Tension over-center spring with clutch pedal and press spring retainer 3317 from above.
^ Hole - arrow - faces clutch pedal.
- Bring clutch pedal to rest position and remove over-center spring together with spring retainer 3317.





Installing
- Pull clutch pedal into passenger compartment.
- Insert over-center spring into rear bearing - arrow B - first and operate clutch pedal until spring retainer 3317 makes contact at mounting pin - arrow A - of clutch pedal.
- Bring clutch pedal into rest position, remove assembly clamp while doing so.
- Bring clutch pedal into rest position and remove spring retainer 3317.
