Windshield, Removing
- Remove wiper arms.
- Remove cowl panel trim.
- Remove sun visors on left, in center and on right.
- Remove interior rear-view mirror.
- Remove upper trim panels on A-pillars.
- Pierce a hole in adhesive sealing material from inside of vehicle with broach at bottom left corner of windshield.
- Run cutting wire through end of broach and pull through into inside of vehicle.
- Lay cutting wire underneath glass all around windshield.
- Tie end of cutting wire around bolt for securing wiper arms.
- Insert protective cover V.A.G 1474/13 between windshield and dash panel.
- Secure start of cutting wire in winding device and cut out first part of glass (up to about center of windshield).
- Move winding device to next position as shown and continue to cut out glass.
- Move winding device to next position as shown and attach relay pulley.
- Route cutting wire as illustrated.
- Cut out glass up to the point where the thread no longer runs in the relay pulley.
- Remove relay pulley and continue to cut out glass.
- Move winding device to next position as shown and attach relay pulley in upper corner of windshield.
- Route cutting wire as illustrated.
- Insert protective sheet V.A.G 1474/7 between windshield and moulded headliner.
- Cut out glass up to the point where thread no longer runs in relay pulley.
- Remove relay pulley and continue to cut out glass.
- Now repeat these steps in the top left and bottom left corners of the windshield.
- Cut out the window glass completely according to these steps.
- Remove glass from window opening with double suction cups.
