Removal and Replacement



Fuel Injectors, Removing And Installing







- Remove engine cover panel -1- -arrows-.
- Disconnect wiring and unplug connectors for the following components:
- Intake air temperature (IAT) sensor -G42-
- camshaft position (CMP) sensor -G40-
- Throttle valve control module -J338-

WARNING: Fuel system is under pressure. Before opening the system place a cloth around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.







- Press release catches and disconnect fuel supply line -1- and fuel return line -2.







- Disconnect vacuum hose from fuel pressure regulator -arrow-.







- Unplug connectors -1-.
- Disengage wiring duct -2-.
- Remove the 2 hex socket head bolts -arrows- securing the fuel rail.
- Pull fuel rail together with injectors off intake manifold (pull off evenly from the top) and place it on a clean cloth in the engine compartment.
- Take off retaining clip and remove injector.

NOTE: To install a new fuel rail, first disconnect the fuel hoses.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When doing this, note the following:
- Replace the O-rings at all opened connections. (When replacing the front O-ring, make sure not to remove the plastic cap from the injector head. The O-ring must be pulled off over the plastic cap.)
- Moisten the O-rings with clean engine oil.
- Make sure that the injectors are installed in the correct positions.
- Check to make sure that the retainer clamps are properly seated.
- Position fuel rail together with injectors (properly secured) against intake manifold and press into place evenly all round.

Tightening torque
Fuel rail to intake manifold 10 Nm
