Selector Shaft Seal






Selector Shaft Seal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pry Lever - Rmv Outside Mirror (80 - 200)

Assembly Sleeve (3385)

Procedure

- Remove Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch (F125). Refer to => [ Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch ] Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch.

- Pry selector lever cable from selector shaft lever using Pry Lever - Rmv Outside Mirror (80 - 200) - arrow -.





- Drive out spring pin - 1 - on selector shaft lever - 2 - forward in direction of travel - arrow - until selector shaft lever can be removed from shaft.





- Pierce shaft seal with a small screwdriver and pull out.





- Lubricate outer circumference and space between sealing lips with ATF.

Installation position: Open side of shaft seal faces transmission.

- Slide the new sealing ring onto Sealing Ring Installer (3385) and drive on as far as installer stop without tilting the sealing ring.





- Drive spring pin back onto removed selector shaft lever in opposite direction to lever.

- Slide selector shaft lever onto shaft and drive in spring pin.

- Push the selector shaft lever - 2 - on the transmission all the way forward (opposite the direction of - arrow -).





- Move the selector lever into "S" and carefully push the ball head from the selector lever cable - 1 - onto the selector shaft lever with pliers.

Do not bend selector shaft lever when pressing on, otherwise shift mechanism can no longer be adjusted exactly.

- Install Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch (F125). Refer to => [ Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch ] Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch.
