Mounting Components, Checking after an Accident

All damaged securing pieces must be replaced, you cannot reshape components or make them fit.

Following components must be checked after every airbag deployment.

With a passenger airbag deployment:

• Instrument panel central tube, passenger airbag supports and passenger airbag must be installed free of tension. Central tube should be replaced.

• Check glove compartment for damage, replace if damage is present.

With a driver airbag deployment:

• Steering wheel, remove steering wheel and lay with steering wheel rim on a level surface, entire steering wheel rim must rest on surface. Otherwise steering wheel is to be replaced.

• Check steering wheel for smoke marks, steering wheel must be replaced if smoke marks are present.
