DTC Memory, Checking

- Connect vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system (VAS 5051) and select vehicle system "01 -Engine electronics" in selection. Engine should be idling. Refer to => [ VAS5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions ] VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions.

• If the engine will not start, crank it for at least 5 seconds with the starter and then always leave the ignition on.

- Under - 1 - select diagnostic function "02 - Check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory".

1. Content of the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory:

<> 0 Faults recognized

or

<> X Faults recognized

2 DTCs

<> DTC code

<> DTC location

<> DTC type

A - If malfunctions were recognized:

- Print out screen content or self-diagnosis report.

- Exit function "02 - Check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory " by pressing arrow button.

Display on (VAS 5051):





- Repair malfunction(s) as specified in DTC table. Refer to => [ DTCs P0011 to P1228, or VAG 16395 to 17636 ] P0011 P1228 DTC 16395 DTC 17636

- Reselect diagnostic function "02 - Check Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory" and erase DTC memory.

- Select diagnostic function "06 - End output" in selection. Refer to => [ Ending Output ] Ending Output.

B - If no malfunction was recognized:

Refer to => [ Ending Output ] Ending Output.

- Select diagnostic function "06 - End output" in selection. Refer to => [ Ending Output ] Ending Output.
