Engine Accessory Bracket: Service and Repair
Accessory assembly bracket, removing and installing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Locking Pin T10060A
^ Spring-type clip pliers VAS 5024 A
Removing
- Disconnect electrical connector - 1 -.
- Disconnect intake connection - arrow - using spring-type clip pliers VAS 5024 A.
- Remove engine cover upward and out in direction of - arrow -.
- Remove cover from above battery, by pressing release buttons - arrows -
CAUTION! Observe measures when connecting battery.
- With ignition switched off, disconnect Battery Ground (GND) strap - arrow -.
- Remove EVAP canister with connected lines upward - arrow - out of retainer and lay it aside.
Note: Before removing ribbed belt, mark the turning direction on it with chalk or a felt tip pen. A reversed turning direction can cause damage to the belt under operating conditions.
- Pivot ribbed belt tensioner in direction of - arrow - to relieve tension on ribbed belt.
- Secure tensioning element using Locking Pin T10060A.
- Remove ribbed belt.
- Remove ribbed belt tensioner - arrows -
- Discharge refrigerant circuit.
- Remove generator.
- Remove sound insulation.
- Remove right noise insulation fasteners - 1 to 3 -.
- Remove A/C compressor.
- Remove accessory assembly bracket - bolts - 1 to 6 -.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following.
^ Tightening torques refer to Ribbed belt, assembly bracket, assembly overview
- Tighten bolts in sequence - 1 to 6 -.
- Install Generator.
- Install A/C compressor.
- Install ribbed belt.
- Connect battery.
