Fuel Injectors, Removing And Installing Removing
Removing
- Remove engine cover (arrows).
- Disconnect wiring/connectors at:
Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor -G42-
Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor 2 -G163-
Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-
WARNING: The fuel system is under pressure. Before opening the system, place rags around the connection. Then release pressure by carefully loosening the connection.
- Disconnect fuel supply line -1- and fuel return line -2-. Press release buttons to do this.
- Disconnect vacuum hose at fuel pressure regulator (arrow).
- Disconnect harness connectors -1-.
- Disengage wiring channel -2-.
- Remove 2 socket-head bolts (arrows) for fuel distributor.
- Remove fuel distributor together with fuel injectors from intake manifold upward and place on a clean rag in engine compartment.
- Disengage retaining clip and remove fuel injector.
NOTE: Fuel lines must be disconnected before replacing fuel distributor.
Installing
Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:
- Replace O-rings at all opened connections. (Never remove plastic cap from valve head to replace front O-ring - lift O-ring off over plastic cap).
- Lightly lubricate O-rings with clean engine oil.
- Make sure fuel injectors are in place and seated correctly.
- Check clip for unobstructed fitting.
- Place fuel rail with secured fuel injectors onto intake manifold, and apply uniform pressure to press in.
Tightening torque
Fuel rail at intake manifold 10 Nm
