Corrugated Hoses, Repairing

NOTE: Corrugated hoses can be replaced with heat-shrink sleeves.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Hot Air Gun VAS 1978/14 from Wiring Harness Repair Set VAS 1978A.
- Air Hose Pliers VAS 6228
- Connecting piece 1J0 955 875 R
- Connecting piece 1J0 955 875







Procedure
- Disconnect damaged part of washer fluid hose with the Air Hose Pliers VAS 6228.
- Connect ends - 1 and 4 - of the washer fluid line with connector pieces - 2 and 3 -.
- Slide the heat-shrink sleeve - 5 - over an end of the washer fluid line and connect the connector pieces with each other.
- Slide the heat-shrink sleeve over the washer fluid connector pieces.
- After sliding on, the heat-shrink sleeve must be shrunk with the Hot Air Gun VAS 1978/14.
- The heat-shrink sleeve must be heated from the center outward until it seals completely.
- Set the hot air gun to the correct temperature according to the operating instructions.
- When shrinking, ensure no other lines, plastic parts or insulation material is damaged by the hot nozzle.
- Check for function and leaks.
