Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve, Checking

Recommended Special Tools, Workshop Equipment, Testers, Measuring Instruments and Auxiliary Items
- V.A.G 1526 portable multimeter or V.A.G 1715 multimeter
- Adapter set V.A.G 1594
- Wiring diagram

Test Conditions
- The respective fuses of Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75- must be OK
- Fuel Pump (FP) Relay -J17- must be OK, check
- The Ground (GND) connections between engine and body must be OK.
- Ignition switched off.

Test Sequence
- Switch off ignition.
- Disconnect connector at Waste Bypass Regulator Valve.

Check resistance

- Measure resistance between terminals of solenoid valve.







Specification: 25 to 35 Ohms

If the specification is not obtained:
- Replace Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75-.
- Erase DTC memory of ECM. Diagnostic Mode 04 - Erase DTC Memory
- Generate readiness code. Generate Readiness Code

If the specification is obtained:
- Check wire connections to control module according to wiring diagram.

Wiring Connections to Engine Control Module, Checking
- Connect test box to ECM wiring harness. Test Box, Connecting For Wiring Test
- Check wires between test box and 2-pin connector to Engine Control Module (ECM) for open circuit according to wiring diagram.

Terminal 2 + Socket 104







Wiring resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms

- Also check the wire for short circuit to B+ and Ground (GND).

Specification: Infinity Ohms

- Check wire between 2-pin connector terminal 1 and the Fuel Pump (FP) Relay -J17-for open circuit according to wiring diagram.

Wiring resistance: max. 1.5 Ohms

If no fault is detected in the wiring:
- Replace Motronic Engine Control Module (ECM) -J220-.
- Erase DTC memory of ECM. Diagnostic Mode 04 - Erase DTC Memory
- Generate readiness code. Generate Readiness Code
