Required Special Tools and Equipment
- V.A.G 1331 Torque wrench
- 3352 A Locking cable adjusting gauge
- Starter must not start with selector lever in "S", "D", "R" and Tiptronic positions.
- At speeds over 5 km/h and with selector lever in "N" position, shift lock solenoid may not engage and block selector lever. Selector lever can be shifted in a driving mode.
- At speeds below 5 km/h (almost still) and selector lever in "N" position, shift lock solenoid may engage after approx. 1 second. Selector lever can be switched out of "N" position only after pressing brake pedal.
Selector lever in "P" position and ignition switched on:
- Brake pedal is not depressed:
Selector lever is locked and cannot be switched out of position "P". Shift lock solenoid blocks selector lever.
- Brake pedal is activated:
Shift lock solenoid releases selector lever. A driving mode can be engaged. Slowly shift selector lever through "P" via " R, N, D, S", while checking whether the selector lever position in instrument cluster matches with the selector lever position.
