Vacuum Pump: Testing and Inspection

Brake System Vacuum Pump, Checking

Test Procedure

- Drive vehicle onto lifting platform, switch engine off.
- Start engine.

^ While the engine is being started the brake system vacuum pump V192 (located on subframe in front of steering box, left side) should run briefly.

- A second person has to touch the pump by hand to check whether it is running.

If brake system vacuum pump V192 does not run:

- Check fault memory in the engine control module.
