Brake Pedal, Separating from Brake Booster

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





^ Releasing tool T10006

Separating

- Remove storage compartment on drivers side.
- Remove brake light switch (square housing).
- Remove brake light switch (round housing).
- Unplug electrical connectors from clutch pedal switch and from interlock switch.





- Remove connecting plate between clutch pedal and brake pedal - arrows - on vehicles with manual transmission.





- Press brake pedal -1- in direction of brake booster and hold.
- Insert Releasing tool T10006 as shown and pull toward drivers seat while providing support at brake pedal -1- (pedal must not be allowed to move to rear at this point). This presses retainer tabs -3- off ball head.
- Pull both Releasing tool T10006 and brake pedal toward drivers seat (this pulls brake pedal off push rod ball head.

Note:
^ For ease of illustration, Fig. shows separation of brake pedal from brake booster with pedal cluster removed.

Installing

- Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:





- Hold push rod ball head in front of mounting and push brake pedal in direction of brake booster, so that the ball head audibly locates.
- Install brake light switch (square housing).
- Install brake light switch (round housing).
