Ignition Coil: Service and Repair



Ignition Coils With Power Output Stage, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Assembly tool T10118







- Puller T10166

NOTE: Ignition coils and power output stages are one component and cannot be replaced individually.

Removing
- Remove engine covers.
- Remove both side parts of intake manifold.
- Disconnect 4-pin connectors from ignition coils 1 through 12.

NOTE:
- Assembly tool T10118 can be used to release connector catches.
- Before disconnecting harness connectors, mark allocation to component.







- Slide on puller T10166 in direction of arrow, and pull out ignition coil with power output stage.

Installing
- Insert ignition coil with power output stage into spark plug shaft so that the connector connections cannot contact the cylinder head cover.
- Press ignition coil with power output stage by hand into spark plug up to stop.
