HID Headlamp Ignition Coil, From 09.07






HID Headlamps

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

Adjust the headlamps after performing any work that could have affected their adjustment.

Removing


Danger to life due to high voltage.

Observe usage and safety information for gas discharge headlamps.

- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Loosen locking bolt - 1 - a few turns.





- Remove appropriate front wheel.

- Remove appropriate front wheel housing liner.

- Release retainer tabs - arrows - and detach gas-discharge lamp housing cover from headlamp housing.

- Disengage the retaining clip - 1 - and tilt it to the side.





- Rotate the HID headlamp ignition coil - 3 - counterclockwise - arrow - to automatically release the electrical connector - 2 -.

- Remove the HID headlamp ignition coil.

Harness connector must only be connected with ignition coil installed.





- Check if recess in housing of ignition coil for gas discharge lamp and recess in pressure ring align completely with each other - arrows -.

- Attach ignition coil for gas discharge lamp to headlamp and fasten clockwise until stop.

Ignition coil must turn freely.

Arrow on housing points upward.

- Close the retaining clip on the HID headlamp ignition coil.

- Connect harness connector.

- Close housing cover and secure with screw.

- Install front wheel housing liner.

- Connect battery. Required actions, refer to => [ To connect, connect terminal clamp of ground (GND) wire by hand to battery negative terminal and tighten nut. ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
