Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), Initiating
- With ignition switched off, connect diagnostic operation system VAS 5051 A with diagnostic cable VAS 5051/5A to 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC) in vehicle.
- Switch ignition on or start engine.
NOTE:
- Switch ignition on (when checking activation of A/C Compressor Regulator Valve N280, the engine should not be running)
- Start engine (to check activation of coolant fans)
- Set the operating mode "Auto" at, Climatronic Control Module J255 (and at Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265).
- Select AC/Heating electronics or " Rear A/C control head" using address word "08" or "28".
- Open footwell vents (instrument panel, center console and "B" -pillars).
- Check DTC memory. Check DTC Memory (Function 02)

- Select function "03 - Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)".
Indication on display of diagnostic operation system VAS 5051 A:
- Display field - 1 - shows which actuator is currently being activated (e.g. 1st actuator in test).
- Display field - 2 - lists in succession the actuators that were already activated or which one is currently activated. The one currently being actuated appears in the bottom line.

NOTE:
- By clicking the <- button, you will return to the selection menu.
- Final control diagnosis can be terminated by pressing C key.
- When output DTM is completed, check DTC memory. Check DTC Memory (Function 02)
- Check DTC memory, Check DTC Memory (Function 02) and read measuring value block, Read Measuring Value Block when DTM is canceled (e.g. display group number 002 for, Climatronic control module J255).
