Rearview Camera System Control Module
• If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine. Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Remove the key.
Removing
- Remove the luggage compartment trim panel on the left side.
- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 3 - (8 Nm).
- Disconnect the connectors - 2 - and - 4 - from the rear view camera system control module (J772) - 5 -.
- Remove rear view camera system control module - 5 - with bracket.
Bracket, Removing
Two retaining brackets are bolted to the rear view camera system control module.
- Remove the screws - arrows - (3 Nm) and remove the bracket.
Installing
- First install bracket.
- Installation of the rear view camera system control module is the reverse of removal.
- Perform calibration. Refer to => [ Rearview Camera System, Calibrating ] Testing and Inspection.
Rearview Camera
- Switch off all electrical consumers.
- Remove the key.
Removing
• The rear view camera (R189) is equipped with a trailing cable. The couplings to the vehicle wiring harness are located at the left below the vehicle tool kit box.
- Remove the rear lid trim panel.
- Remove the screw - 1 - (4 Nm).
- Remove retaining plate - 2 -.
The rear view camera - 3 - is secured to handle trim.
- Remove rear view camera - 3 - with a suitable tool from the grip piece.
- Separate connectors - 1 - and - 2 -.
Installing
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Close rear lid.
- Perform calibration. Refer to => [ Rearview Camera System, Calibrating ] Testing and Inspection.
