Telephone Handset - Telephone Fixed Installation, Adapting, As of Model Year 03

Telephone System

Telephone Handset - Telephone Fixed Installation, Adapting, as of Model Year 03

If the Telephone Transceiver (R36) or the Telephone Handset (R37) was replaced, then the Bluetooth connection between Telephone Transceiver (R36) and telephone handset must be adapted anew.

The adaptation process is performed with the menu of the telephone handset.

First, all data of Bluetooth devices in telephone handset must be erased.

- Switch on MMI and telephone handset. Telephone handset lies in the Telephone Baseplate (R126).

- Once the Motorola logo appears on the telephone handset, press the C button as often until the "Menu" display appears.

- Press the Menu button on the telephone handset and select "Bluetooth".

- Select "devices" and press the Menu button to confirm.

- Select "erase" and press the Select button to confirm.

- Erase each individual entry in the list.

Then:

- Go back in the "Menu" far enough until "Bluetooth" appears.

- Press the Select button to confirm.

- Select "vehicle base station" and press the Select button to confirm.

- Select "new scan" and press the Select button to confirm. The search process will be started. The process will last up to 30 seconds.

If the Bluetooth device is detected, its name will appear in the handset display: "Audi Phone 1234567".

"Establish connection" appears in MMI display.

- Confirm this message with the rotary push button.

"Bluetooth PIN" appears in MMI display.

- Confirm this message with the rotary push button.

Now, the selection grid must stand on the PIN input field.

An input screen appears for entry of the Bluetooth PIN.

- Via the MMI, enter a self-chosen 4-digit PIN code and confirm with the rotary push button. Note down this PIN.

You will be requested by the MMI to enter the same PIN code into the Telephone Handset (R37).

- Enter the same PIN code on Telephone Handset and confirm with the highlighted "Select" button.

Successful connection with the Telephone Handset is confirmed via the MMI display.

The "Bluetooth PIN" has nothing to do with the SIM card PIN. "Bluetooth PIN" is important for the adaptation process only and is then no longer needed. Therefore it is not necessary to inform the customer of the "Bluetooth PIN".

- Then perform a function test of the telephone.
