Radiator Cooling Fan: Service and Repair

Coolant fan, removing and installing

Special tools, repair equipment, testers, measuring instruments and other items required:

^ Refractometer T10007
^ Drip tray VAG 1306
^ Torque wrench (5 to 50 Nm) VAG 1331
^ Assembly tools for spring clips VAS 5024 A

Removing

Note: Always replace gaskets and sealing rings.

- Remove front bumper:
^ Move lock carrier to service position.
- Drain coolant.
^ Remove radiator.





- Disconnect connectors -1- and -2- and move fan motor wires clear.





- Unbolt coolant fan (arrows) from radiator cowl.

Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
