Removing





- Separate left - hand drive axle at flanges and tie - up to lower transverse link.
- Place drip tray under final drive.
- Remove drive flange, to do this screw lower support of puller T10037 into housing (arrow).
- Lever seal out with a lever.

Installing





- Drive new seal in onto stop using special tool VW 195.
- Fill space between sealing lip and dust lip with multipurpose grease G 052 128 A1.





- Clamp drive flange in vice using vice protectors.
- Press circlip out of output shaft groove using new circlip - A -.
- Drive in drive flange using a synthetic head hammer.
- Replace seal between drive flange and drive axle (pull off protective foil and glue seal into joint).
- Bolt on drive axle.
- Checking transmission oil in rear final drive.





Tightening torque
Drive shaft to drive range 40 Nm
