Bonded Rubber Bushings, Removing and Installing


Special tools and equipment

Removing





- Unclip brake cable (arrows).
- Remove clips - 2 - from brake line bracket.
- Remove bolt - 1 - on guide bearing.





Note: In order to be able to insert special tool a soft wooden wedge of approximately 10 cm. diameter must be inserted between rear axle beam and body.
- Position special tool and knock guide bearing out of axle body.

Installing
Bonded rubber bushing has mark - 1 - on face.





- Mark must align with edge (arrow) on trailing arm - 2 -.
- Mark position of mark - 1 - on bonded rubber bushing.





- Assemble special tool with bonded rubber bushing.





- Install bonded rubber bushing and special tool on rear axle.
- Ensure mark aligns with trailing arm edge.
- Install (pull in) bonded rubber bushing by turning spindle.
- Check position of bonded rubber bushing after installing.
- Continue rear axle installation in reverse sequence.

Greasing rubber bonded bushing
- Before installation of rear axle, grease kidney shaped areas of bonded rubber bushing with G 052 150 A2 grease.

Tightening torque:

Bearing bracket to rear axle Use new nuts and bolts! 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)
