Vacuum Pump: Testing and Inspection

Brake system vacuum pump -V192-, checking

Test procedure
^ Drive vehicle onto lifting platform, switch engine
^ Start engine.
^ While the engine is being started the brake system vacuum pump -V192- (located on subframe in front of steering box, left side) should run briefly.
^ A second person has to touch the pump by hand to check whether it is running.
If brake system vacuum pump -V192- does not run:
^ Check fault memory in the engine control module
