Brake Pedal, Removing and Installing




Brake pedal, removing and installing

Removing
^ Remove storage compartment on driver's side.





^ Unscrew bolts -1
^ Remove cover -A-.
^ Remove brake light switch (square housing).
^ Remove brake light switch (round housing).





^ Remove connecting plate between clutch pedal and brake pedal (arrows) on vehicles with manual transmission.
^ Unplug 6-pin connector on accelerator pedal module.
^ Separate brake pedal from brake booster.
^ Remove hex nut -Item 9 -, and detach brake pedal.

Installing
Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:

Note: Before installing, grease all bearings with polycarbamide grease, G 052 142 A2.





^ Hold ball head of push rod in front of mounting and push brake pedal in direction of brake booster, so that the ball head locates audibly.
^ Install brake light switch (square housing).
^ Install brake light switch (round housing).
