Telephone Roof Antenna (coupe Up To M.y. 2001), Removing And Installing
Removing:
- Remove roof end trim.
- Remove connection -1- of antenna wire from antenna base -2-.
- Remove hex nut -3- (tightening torque: 4 Nm) in order to remove antenna parts -4- and -5-.
Installing:
- Install in reverse order of removal.
Telephone roof antenna (coupe from m.y. 2002), removing and installing
Telephone antenna consists of:
1 - Protective sheath
2 - Antenna
3 - Ground (GND) plate
4 - Locking ring
5 - Antenna cable
Here the antenna, Ground (GND) plate and antenna wire are inseparably bound with each other.
Locking ring -4- must be pulled out (removed) from antenna base before removing and installing.
- Remove locking ring.
Removing:
- Remove roof end trim.
- Insert a suitable plastic wedge between sealing lip (arrows) and roof -2- and carefully lever off protective sheath -1-.
- Press antenna sealing lip (arrows) inward through opening -2- from above using the plastic wedge.
- Disconnect harness connector.
Installing:
- Press antenna into opening from below using a light turning motion until it locks.
- Turn antenna far enough so that the antenna wire points in direction of wiring.
- Check that the sealing lip (arrows) has snapped out of the opening and press in locking ring -1-firmly until stop when sealing lip is seated correctly.
Ground (GND) plates -2- must contact roof firmly.
- Press protective sheath -1- carefully onto antenna using a light turning motion until it locks.
Sealing lip (arrows) must be pressed outward in a mushroom shape and contact roof -2- simultaneously.
- Connect antenna wire from telephone with the wire from antenna.
