Assembly overview







NOTE: Cut out rear window using tool 357 845 955 and with special tool VAG1655.


1 - Rear window glass
- Dim. -a- determined when installing
- Dim. -b- must be at least 1 mm (0.039 in.)
2 - Adhesive bead
- Note various distances to glass edge
- Distances to glass edge are specified through markings
- Dimensions for adhesive application and adhesive bead cross section
3 - Upper trim for tailgate
- Remove before disassembling rear window


CAUTION!
When installing or using the cutting cord, be careful not to damage visible painted surfaces.


4 - Upper strip (4x)
- Upper and lower strips are self-adhesive and must be installed at specified distance to glass flange
- Bond onto glass side
5 - Lower strip (4x)
- Bond onto tailgate side
6 - Lower trim for tailgate
- Remove before disassembling rear window
7 - Rear wiper
- Remove
8 - Seal for rear wiper


CAUTION!
When installing the rear window, the hole for the wiper motor must be centered, otherwise leakage can occur.
