Valve Body, Removing and Installing


Valve body, removing and installing
Removing
- Remove oil pan.
- Remove ATF screen.





- Remove circlip -arrow- for harness connector.
- Remove harness connector by pressing toward inside.

Note:
^ Only remove marked bolts.
^ If you remove other bolts, the valve body can malfunction or file valve body can separate.
^ The bolts have different lengths. Be sure to use the correct ones when installing.





- Remove bolts -arrows-.
- Carefully remove valve body from transmission.

CAUTION! Do not place removed valve body on sender for transmission input RPM on the back-side of the valve body to avoid damage.

Installing
- Lightly lubricate O-rings for harness connector with Vaseline.
- Install harness connector in transmission.

Note:
^ Installation position of the connector: The tabs on the connection side must be horizontal, the flattened side of the connector must be positioned parallel to the oil pan sealing face.
^ Fastening and routing of the harness at the valve body must be according to the instructions.





- Attach valve body without force and insert dowel of indent -1- into groove of selector lever -2-.





- Insert circlip for harness connector - arrow-.





- First hand-tighten bolts for valve body -arrows-.

Note: The bolts have different lengths. Be sure to use the correct ones when installing.

- Arrow A-: 5 bolts M6 x 30
- Arrow- 15 bolts M6 x 60
- Arrow B-: 1 bolt M6 x 55 (chromated, silver)
- Now tighten bolts for valve body from inside-out with 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.) to final torque.
