Oil Pan, Oil Strainer and Valve Body
Oil pan, oil strainer and valve body, removing and installing
CAUTION! Do not run engine or tow vehicle with removed oil pan or without ATF.
Note:
^ The components shown in the following illustrations can be removed with the transmission installed.
^ Always replace contaminated or malfunctioning valve body.
^ Observe rules for cleanliness when working on automatic transmissions, Refer to Service Precautions.
^ General repair instructions.
^ Thinly lubricate O-rings and seals with Vaseline. Other greases can lead to malfunctions in the hydraulic system of the transmission.
1. Drain plug - 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.)
^ Socket head plug 5 mm
2. Seal
^ Always replace.
3. Bolt- 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
^ Tighten bolts for oil pan in several steps diagonally.
4. Oil pan
^ Removing and installing, Refer to Oil Pan Removing and Installing.
5. Seal
^ Always replace.
6. ATF screen
^ Removing and installing, refer to ATF Screen, Rmoving and Installing.
7. O-ring
^ Always replace.
^ Lubricate with Vaseline
8. Bolt- 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.)
^ To secure valve body: 5 bolts M6 x 30, 1 bolt M6 x 55 (chromates), 15 bolts M6 x60
^ Observe tightening sequence, Refer to Specifications.
9. Valve body
^ Removing and installing, Refer to Valve Body, Removing and Installing.
10. O-ring
^ Always replace.
^ Lightly lubricate with Vaseline

^ Replacing, refer to Speedometer - Vehicle Speed Sensor.

^ To remove, remove spring pin item 15.

^ Replacing, Refer to Multi-Function Transmission Range Switch.

18. Bracket for cable of TR switch
^ Secured with bolts for TR switch
19. Bolt - 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.)
20. Bracket for solenoid valves
^ Must be removed when replacing solenoid valves
21. Solenoid Valve 3- N9O
^ Without O-ring
^ To replace remove oil pan
22. Solenoid Valve 2 - N89
^ Without O-ring
^ To replace remove oil pan

^ Without O-ring

^ With O-ring
^ When installing, lightly lubricate O-ring with Vaseline.

^ Replacing
32. Bolt- 5 Nm (44 ft. lbs.)
33. Wiring - harness inside transmission
^ ATF Temperature Sensor -G93 integrated in wiring harness.
^ Removing and installing
34. Bolt for ATF screen - 5 Nm (44 inch lbs.)
35. O-ring
^ Always replace.
^ When installing, lightly lubricate with Vaseline
36. Circlip
^ Replace if damaged
37. Magnet
^ 4 in recesses of oil pan
^ Clean
^ Be sure magnet makes complete contact with oil pan.
38. O-ring
^ Always replace.
39. ATF filler plug - 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.)
^ Socket head plug 17 mm
