Selector Shaft Seal, Removing and Installing


Selector shaft seal, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment
^ 3385 - Installation tool

Removing
^ Remove left transmission support.
^ Remove Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch -F125-.





^ Drive out spring pin -1 - at transmission selector lever -2- in driving direction -arrow- until selector lever can be removed from selector shaft.





^ Pierce sealing ring with small screwdriver and pull out.

Installing





^ Attach new seal on installation tool 3454 and push in to stop using lever -A-.

Note:
^ The open side of the seal must point toward the transmission.
^ Lightly lubricate the outside of the seal and the sealing lip with Vaseline.

^ Drive back spring pin in transmission selector lever.
^ Install transmission selector lever and drive spring pin through selector shaft.





Tightening torques
Multi-function Transmission Range (TR) Switch-F125 to transmission 8 Nm (71 ft. lbs.)
Transmission support to transmission 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.)
Transmission support to transmission mount 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
[Transmission mount to engine/transmission carrier 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.)
