^ Spring compressor kit VAG1752





^ Shock absorber wrench 3017 A

Disassembly of suspension strut





^ Insert VAG1 752/1 into coil spring.





^ Make sure coil spring is correctly seated in adapter VAG 1752/7, (arrow).
^ Pretension coil spring with clamping device VAG1752/1 until top shock absorber mount is free.
^ Unscrew hex nut from push rod with 3017 A.
^ Take off coil spring and individual parts of shock absorber.

Assembly of suspension strut
Installation is the reverse of removal.

Note the following:
Top and bottom ends of spring must rest against stop of spring support (arrow).





Figure shows bottom end of spring, which should face middle of vehicle.





Installed position of shock absorber mount
Axis of assembly bolts -1- must align with axis -2- of bottom shock absorber bushing -4-.
